Dirk Warzecha is Chief Operating Officer of DEA Deutsche Erdoel AG in Hamburg.
He studied Mining Engineering at the Technical University in Aachen as well as Drilling Engineering, Oil and Gas Production at Clausthal-Zellerfeld Technical University in Germany and successfully completed his course with a Master of Engineering.
In 1993, he started his career with the German company PREUSSAG ENERGIE, where he worked as Reservoir Engineer, Production Engineer, Senior Reservoir Engineer, Project Leader and Development Manager in a number of different departments in Germany, Ecuador and Tunisia over the following ten years.
In October 2003, Dirk Warzecha joined RWE Dea. At Dea, he worked for various sites in Germany and North Africa up to 2010, when he was the Manager of the Holstein Production District, responsible for Mittelplate, Germany’s largest oilfield.
From 2011 to 2012, Dirk Warzecha was the General Manager of RWE Dea Egypt, where he was responsible for all activities of Dea in the North African country, like the oil production in the Gulf of Suez, the operated onshore gas development in the Nile Delta as well as the offshore project West Nile Delta.
In November 2012, Dirk Warzecha was appointed member of the Board of Management of RWE Dea AG. Since January 2013, he is Chief Operating Officer of DEA Deutsche Erdoel AG in Hamburg.
